Town centre prints

Year 1 pupils from Woodnook Primary School in Accrington, working in conjunction with the Haworth Art Gallery produced drawings and prints based on the buildings of Accrington. Having seen paintings of Accrington in the collection, the pupils constructed printing plates from textured wallpapers. They later inked these plates and printed them using a portable printing press. Having a little time at the end of the session they made mono prints and a print of a church tower using scrap materials.

” I think the children got a lot out of it. Thanks so much for all your hard work. The printing looks absolutely fantastic. Really pleased with it. “
