Alan Birch

Alan Birch will be running a printmaking day at Ramsbottom Library on Saturday the 16th of June. The day will be part of the Summer School run by Bury Adult Learning Service.

The workshop will explore the creative opportunities of dry point printing, using soft card plates which will be used to engrave lines and marks. Alan will bring in a host of images on the theme of landscape, some found in museum collections in the North West. Alan will introduce participants to his own work and will demonstrate the expressive potential or printmaking. Using specialist water based inks provide, participants will produce a series of proofs as they work up to the final printed images. Collage will also be introduce at later stages to bring colour into the prints.

The cost of the day is £75 and includes refreshments
