Alan Birch

Year 9 Pupils from Newall Green High School, worked with artists Sara Marsh and Alan Birch to explore the world of Public Art. Pupils viewed the public art pieces outside the Whitworth and in Whitworth Park, and were encouraged to give their views on the pieces. Later pupils drew inspiration from the works in the “We Face Forward” exhibition to produce their own 3D pieces. Pupils used a range of materials from wire, paper, card, sellotape and discarded toys to make their own public sculptures.
