Nearly 150 Year 1 pupils from Beaver Road Primary School in Manchester, worked with printmaker Alan Birch at The Whitworth during the month of June. Working on the theme of natural forms, found in the textiles and printed pieces from the collection, the children worked over 3 days, producing drawings and colourful prints. Water based inks and a printing press were used to create vibrant pieces from cut out wallpaper shapes.
