Printing from the garden.
Year 9 pupils from Ashton on Mersey School, spent a day at The Whitworth, drawing and printing with artist Alan Birch. The pupils produced some excellent drawings from the Whitworth garden and later transformed these into engravings before printing them on a portable printing press. A few pupils added abstract forms from the work of Eduardo Paolozzi , to fit in with their theme of mechanical, natural. The quality of their prints was outstanding and they should all do well in their GCSE next year!
“Thank you both so much for all your gorgeous feedback, amazing support, time well resourced, organised and creative printmaking workshop. All pupils really enjoyed it and told their Head of Year how they enjoyed it in the assembly. Thanks you both again for your expert creative professionalism. ”
