Printing at Claypool
Year 3 and year 1 pupils at Claypool Primary School in Bolton, were introduced to the world of printmaking when artist Alan Birch spent in day at school. Year 3 pupils explored the theme of the Aztecs, which they were studying at school. Images of gods and craft objects were transformed into drawings then into intaglio engravings which the children inked and printed themselves. Year 1 pupils built a large printed seaside landscape incorporating Blackpool tower, birds and seashore creatures.
