Peruvian printing.
Nearly 100 year 4 pupils spent time at The Whitworth in Manchester looking at the work of Peruvian artist Santiago Yahuarcani. The exhibition , part of the Manchester Festival features large works by the indigenous activist and shaman, runs until January. The pupils from Hursthead Primary School were given a print demonstration before make drawings, which they later used to make engravings. Towards the end of the session they inked and printed their own prints using a portable press. They loved the quirkiness and richness of the works, and this brought out their creative side.
