Nurses print
As part of the Health and Wellbeing programme, in conjunction with the Manchester Museum , Alan Birch spent a morning working with nurses and carers specialising in the care and treatment of Dementia. Over 30 nurses listened to Wendy Gallagher talk about the arts programme before drawing and discussing personal objects and objects from the museum. The nurses were encouraged to discuss the importance of objects and how they can be used to engage individuals living with dementia. The drawings were then engraved and printed in the museum adding collage to encourage dialogue. For some nurses this was their forest foray into art since school. Very impressive work!
