Lucienne Day Inspiration

Year 10 pupils from Wellington High School spent the morning with printmaker Alan Birch at The Whitworth in Manchester. Using the work of Lucienne Day as inspiration, pupils make studies in pencil before engraving their forms into drypoint plates. These they later inked and printed, later adding chine collie, natural forms and relief shapes into their work. They really were a talented bunch.
