Inspired by Colour!
Alan Birch has been working with curator Martyn Lucas at the Turnpike Gallery in Leigh in conjunction with an exhibition of prints by Gillian Ayres from the Alan Cristea Gallery in London. The vivid, life affirming prints have inspired both primary and secondary pupils to produced colourful relief prints. so far over 250 pupils have taken their doings, collages and prints away and with 4 more schools talking part next week, nearly 400 pupils will have printed. The show runs through May, so a visit is a must as the council have decided to change the role of the gallery, and the gallery may never see the like again. Sadly!
