Community Day at Manchester Museum.
Despite the inclement weather , over 100 prints were produced as part of the Community Day at Manchester University in June. Artist Alan Birch was base with the team from Manchester Museum , using his portable press to print detailed illustrations. Working from the theme of The Lost Words By Robert MacFarlane and Jackie Morris , artists young and old produced drypoint engravings , some incorporating text and colour. Visitors were able to chat to the museum team about objects brought out of the collection and make their own prints.
