Christ the King School Art Week.
Pupils from Christ the King Primary School in Manchester, spent a creative week, looking at the work of Vincent Van Gogh, David Hockney and Lucienne Day. Working with artist Alan Birch, reception pupils worked on relief prints based on the work of Day, Year 3 and 4 worked on relief prints and engravings based on David Hockney’ colourful landscapes and his tonal etchings for illustration for stories by the brothers Grimm. Year 2 worked on relief prints looking at Van Goghs landscape works. The workshops in conjunction with the Whitworth, were based on artists who have work in the collection.
