Blackpool Print Magic!
Families spent a creative afternoon working with artist Alan Birch at the Grundy Art Gallery in Blackpool. Taking the current exhibition theme of circus and magic, young ( and slightly older ) artists made drawings from the schools work on display. From these drawings , artists cut out shapes from wallpaper which they later inked up to produce sumptuous colour relief prints using Alan,s press. Artists were transfixed as they turned the etching press handle, which helped to create their colourful prints. Many made more than one print, enthralled by the activity and the magic of the process.
