Beyond the Frame.

Year 5 pupils at St Kentigerns Primary School and St John Vianney RC Primary School, were chosen by the Grundy Art Gallery to work with printmaker Alan Birch for an exhibition in 2016. Pupils produced drawings inspired by portraits held in the gallery’s collection. These drawings were used as a basis for engravings printed engraved, inked and printed by the pupil’s themselves. Hopefully pupils will explore the world of mono printing in the new year.

“Thanks for your time, the teachers said that the children really enjoyed it and learnt a lot. I’m sure they will be keen to do the mono printing!!”
