Medieval Saints
Medieval history students at Manchester University were introduced to the work of artist Alan Birch as part of the course. They later made their own personal response to the work, creating their own contemporary saint. Drawings produced by the students were then engraved into soft metallic card plates, and printed using Alan’s portable press. Some imaginative and brilliant saints materialised.
