In the autumn, artist Alan Birch worked with the Young Creative group at the Turnpike in Leigh as part of their 20 20 Vision programme. The project which sees creative practitioners working across Wigan and Leigh enables young people to involve themselves fully in the activities. Looking at the future the group which meets after school, looked at the role of technology, the environment and the problems caused by plastics. The group worked in a range of media; engraving, relief printing, surface printing and mono printing with their fill piece being a futuristic cityscape made using recycled plastics.
