Year 2 Arctic prints.
Year 2 pupils from St Ketigerns Primary School in Manchester spent a day at the Whitworth in Manchester working with artist Alan Birch.
Pupils had been working on the theme of the Arctic and used their knowledge to produce a range of relief prints, inspired by the blues and colours found in the work of Alice Kettle and the embroideries of William Kentridge currently on display. The pupils produced some excellent work and really enjoyed their day at the gallery.
” We had an amazing day at the Whitworth and the children absolutely loved learning and printing alongside you…the expert!
Thank you for all your efforts in matching the workshop to our Arctic topic! I’m planning a exhibition of work (St Kent’s Art Gallery!) across the school for parents and the community so when we have a date you are invited! Year 2 will definitely be showcasing their amazing arctic prints!
Once again thank you. “
