Plague Prints
Alan Birch spent a creative day with Year 4 pupils from St Stephens Primary School in Burnley, producing engravings and relief prints. The themes explored were The Plague and The River with images depicting the lague doctor, rats, ships and butterflies , fish and frogs . The children made their own prints and inked and printed their own work using a portable etching press.
Hi Alan,
“Thank you for your email and for such a lovely day. The children were so enthusiastic when I spoke to them and the techniques that you modelled were fabulous. I agree- their work was brilliant and I loved the creative atmosphere in the room- it was a hive of activity, and you could sense a real enthusiasm for learning.”
Thank you again,
Kayleigh Wilkinson
