Monstrous!

Over a period of 10 days in February, pupils and public were introduced to the possibilities of printmaking as printmaker Alan Birch staged a residency at John Rylands Library. Key stage 2 pupils from a host of schools in Manchester and Salford were inspired by creatures found in illustrations in books from the Rylands collection, to create their own illustrated letters. Over 130 adults took part in the drop in sessions at the weekend and many vowed to return!
