Mayan printing.
Year 4 pupils from Healey Dell Primary School spent a creative day with Printmaker Alan Birch creating drawings which were later turned into engravings. The themes of Mayan art and Japanese woodcuts currently being studied in class were used as resource material .Pupils engraved and inked their printing plates before using the portable printing press to make their prints. Some excellent prints were produced.
