Headline News!
Over 45 Year 9 pupils from Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School, spent a morning producing drypoint prints with artist Alan Birch. Alan who works at Prospect Studio, less than 300 yards from the school, brought in a range of bizarre news headlines from around the world, complimented by numerous stories provided by the school. Pupils produced an imaginative and quirky range of narrative drawings, which were then transformed into engravings and printed using a portable press and college presses. Various proofs were taken from the plates and collage added later for chine-colle prints.
” Thank you so much for the workshop – the students really enjoyed it – and I loved it – thank you for understanding about the numbers and organising it so well”
