Get Creative Day
Families were able to get their hands dirty as part of the Nationwide BBC initiative ” Get Creative Day” at Stanley Grove in Longsight in April. A range of creative activities were arranged, including a printing workshop with artist Alan Birch. Both parents and children used the wok of Kandinsky and Matisse to create colourful prints using textured wallpapers and water-based inks. Pupils loved the idea of turning the press and revealing their prints. ” Its just like magic!” said one talented 9 year old girl. Some ex pupils returned to school and came back 3 times.
