Deep Bite!
Artist Jill Randall has been working in Wales over the last few years producing a body of work now on show at the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea. the exhibition entitled ” Golden Venture ” runs until the 18th of September, 2011. Its the culmination of her Artists Residency at Parys Mountain Copper Mine in Anglesey ,with drawings sculpture and prints produced by or at the abandoned mine. Jill worked with printmaker Alan Birch, leaving steel plates in liquid pools, both overground and deep in the mine. These deeply bitten and eroded plates were printed at Prospect Studio in Waterfoot using viscosity printing technique, to create rich embossed prints.. Its a must see and could give plenty of printing ideas!
