Printmaking Workshops
New workshops for Winter 2025 dates:
Turn your work into prints at Prospect Studio in Waterfoot., Rossendale.
Alan Birch has been running printmaking classes in his studio for over 30 years.
In that period over 250 people have produced etchings, relief prints, drypoint and collographs. The small friendly classes , limited to a maximum of 7 have seen
artists exhibit and sell their work.
Specialist classes can be arranged for individual artists, groups, in service training sessions for teachers and parties.
Alan Birch also has extensive experience running workshops in galleries and schools using a portable press and water based inks.

The centrally heated studios are home to artists Jill Randall and Liam Spencer. There is free parking nearby and Buses run from Manchester X43 to Rawtenstall and pick ups can be arranged
Most classes are open sessions with artists free to explore their chosen technique. Classes corn from 10a.m – 4p.m. and cost £45 . This covers all expenses except plates and final printing paper.

For any groups able to gather 4 artists together, I can run a bespoke class , occasional days can be arranged during week. I also offer an editioning service should artists not wish to print their own plates, price on request. Also off site classes can be arranged for art groups, schools and well-being groups, making full use of water based inks and a portable print press which can print up to A4. I have also arranged in-service training for small groups of teachers. Bespoke classes for individual artists can be arranged.
All day printmaking workshop 2023
Regular printmaking workshops take place at Prospect Studios in Waterfoot. suitable for both beginners or artists with some printmaking experience covering such techniques as
- Dry Point.
- Etching and Aquatint.
- Relief Printing.
- Collograph.
- Monoprinting.
Workshops 2023

Costs are £45 for the day includes refreshments and everything but plates and final Fabriano paper, and additional costs for sugar lift process.

- Alan has organised birthday parties and hen parties on and off site.
